Gary and I were not allowed to walk either of them into class even though other parents were performing this normal back-to-school ritual. They are both very independent, which I suppose is a good thing. We haven't been able to walk either of them into school since they were in the 1st grade.
Noah was very excited about being in the 3rd grade and being able to walk home from school (on nice days) with Daniel and our next door neighbor, Walker. Daniel couldn't wait for school to start since he has Ohio's teacher of the year. He already knew her because she is the teacher in charge of student council (he was chair of the finance committee last year). Noah had a field trip to the school at the end of 2nd grade and was able to meet his new teacher. So, knowing how comfortable they both were with the new year made it easier for me not to walk them to class.
I await the report at the end of the day. . .
