All Stars

Daniel and Noah were both asked to be in the All Star game for their respective division and age bracket. Daniel was playing in the 11 year old Senior league division (determined by age at the beginning of the season) and Noah was playing in the 9 year old Junior league division. Each All Star game consists of a blue team and a gold team.

Daniel's team (gold) was put to the test as the blue team went ahead 2-0 in the 1st inning. Daniel's first at bat resulted in a hit to the 2nd baseman who threw to 1st to get Daniel out. He then took the field and played several innings at 2nd base himself, where he mirrored his at bat and got the out at 1st. He made several similar plays by fielding ground balls and getting them to the 1st baseman. Daniel's team rallied in the 6th inning and Daniel knocked a runner in to get the gold team to within one but ultimately lost 4-3. Daniel had a blast and enjoyed playing win or loss.

Noah's team (blue) went ahead early batting around and scoring 9 runs in the 1st inning. The gold team came back later in the game and went ahead 22-18. Noah's at bat helped his team tie the game in the bottom of the 5th. During the top of the 6th inning, the gold team scored 4 runs so the blue team had their work cut out for them. Bottom of the 6th, the blue team scores 4 runs and has the bases loaded. Noah's teammate comes to bat, hits to the outfield and the blue team wins. The blue team wins!!! The final score was 27-26 with 2 hours and 59 minutes of play (Daniel's game was 90 minutes for reference).

It was a great night, a bit chilly for Mom as the temperature was in the 60's with 20mph winds, but a great night nonetheless. Dad unfortunately missed the games as he was traveling home from meetings in Dallas.
